hating the law world

like a sheep, i decided to do Course aux stages this year.. And for those of you not involved in the law world, it consists of

1) applying to 20 firms; getting 5 1rst round interviews and 15 rejections. Not good for the morale!
2) Attending these 1rst round interviews in the span of 3 days (March 9-11) where you meet all of your competitors, you dress up in your one expensive suit and find an answer to "Why did you go to Law School"
3) Wait around for call backs for 2nd round interviews from MArch 12-15 (yes, they call on a sunday) for these interviews that will start on Monday the 16.

Thats where we're at. Waiting for call backs, seeing other students rush out in the middle of class to accept a call, wondering why your own cell isnt buzzing yet. WHY dammit cellphone WHY. Buzz yourself!

From 100 first interviews, they cut it down to 35 2nd round (average). And while EVERYONE thinks they had a great first round interview... well, theres a large majority who's never going to know what went wrong in their first interview.

Someone put it really well: its like going on the perfect date, and then waiting for the 2nd date call for 2 days.. to realize its not going to happen. and you have no idea why it didnt click for him. WHy doesnt he want you? you're pretty, smart, confident, awesome! REALLY?! theres someone MOREEE awesome than me? ... no way.

So. i wonder what boat ill be in on sunday. The no 2nd interview and eating ice cream in front of a chick flick? or the Preparing for the 45 minutes 2nd interview in front of 5 partners, hoping that i wow them enough for them to start me at a 80 000$ salary?

a paper problem.

i need to figure out how to solve the problem of governance in a company.

WHAT IS the problem?
Hrm. i guess the shareholders have too much influence, too much power. Add that to when they are equally CEOs and such.. then who's looking out for the best interest of the company? At this point, it is important to mention that the best interest of the company expands beyond the interest of shareholders; you have to consider the workers, the community, the environnement,.. or so says Peoples v. Wise.

HOW does philosphy play into all this? Who knows. i dont even know what theories there are out there. how can i discuss philosphy if i havent learnt a single philosophical theory? SIDENOTE: damn philipe for this being his forte.

SO solution is still left to be found.

i want to be happy.

isnt that all thats important in life? to be happy and to share it? i often let myself get swept away by nonsensical little things, let it bother me and get to me. why? Probably because i, like most, enjoy complaining.

WHY do i like complaining. WHO KNOWS. because it fills the space? because it creates SOMETHING and something is more exciting than easy&happiness? i should just be happy. and light! Complaining and worrying makes days heavy.
